UC San Diego researchers have developed fabrication methods and devices that enable remote catheter navigation. The technology adopts a simple approach that is clinically relevant in the context of “soft robotics”, magnetically-driven microrobotics, and other such techniques. It portends rapid clinical adoption, facilitating a broad variety of minimally invasive surgical procedures that are currently impossible.
This is invention has a patent pending and is available for sponsored research and/or licensing.
