Topical Hesperidin for Treatment of Skin Disorders

Orange peel has been used as a traditional Chinese herbal medicine for wide variety of indications. UCSF scientists showed that hesperidin, found in orange peel, improves the permeability barrier function of the skin and have developed novel formulations that include hesperidin or its analogues/metabolites as topical treatment for several types of skin disorders. In comparison to other bioflavonoids, hesperidin was particularly useful for the treatment of aging human and mouse skin, and to reverse the atrophogenic side effects of topical or systemic glucocorticoids.

Safe and Effective Dermal Decontamination Gel
